Marsten “Marty” Anderson

President / Treasurer

Living with a paralyzed right leg since he was two years old, Marty has transformed personal adversity into a lifelong mission of advocacy and empowerment. A former professional wheelchair tennis player, technologist, and disability rights champion, he works to create opportunities for adaptive athletes to showcase their talents alongside able-bodied competitors. Under his leadership, AAA organizes exhibitions, community programs, and partnerships that highlight the power of inclusion in sports. Marty’s passion for accessibility and representation drives his efforts to normalize adaptive athletics at every level of competition.

Alycia Anderson

Secretary

Alycia Anderson is a global keynote speaker, disability advocate, accessibility strategist, podcast host, and CEO. She empowers workplaces worldwide through her keynotes and workshops and hosts the Pushing Forward with Alycia podcast. A wheelchair user since birth, Alycia holds a Master’s degree in Adaptive Physical Activity and serves on California’s Insurance Diversity Task Force, where she holds the inaugural seat as the first Persons with Disabilities Business Enterprise Representative.

Her work and story have been featured by TEDx, the Los Angeles Times, CNBC, CBS News, and in Authority Magazine’s Female Disruptors series. She has partnered with more than 200 brands, including Microsoft, Victoria’s Secret, Netflix, the International Paralympic Committee, and Etsy, and modeled at New York Fashion Week 2024.

Tom Ayala

Tom Ayala, based in the Coachella Valley, is a founding board member of the Adaptive Athletics Association and has competed at the highest levels of wheelchair tennis for more than three decades, earning recognition as one of California’s most respected players. After a car accident left him paralyzed 32 years ago, he discovered wheelchair tennis and rose to the professional ranks. Alongside his athletic career, he has worked for 27 years as a Retail Sales Associate at Tommy Bahama, demonstrating the same dedication and consistency off the court that have defined his success on it.
